1971 Plymouth Range (by coconv)
Plymouth, 1971 I love these full-range charts. I haven’t headed in to car dealerships to get brochures, but I assume they no longer do these on the back page (which is a shame).
1971 Ford Mustang ad (by retro-space)
1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Is it me or were there a lot more semi-naked women in the late 1960s and early 1970s in car advertising?

1971 Volvo Got to love the dawn of the 1970s—and how functional these Volvo 140-series models looked.

A Clockwork Orange, Sight and Sound 1971
Reblogged for the type A disturbing visual from Kubrick, but what lovely typography. Helvetica, properly set, with the optically correct display types.
Lancia 2000 Coupe (1971)
I’m in love. I want this in poster size and glued to my ceiling, so I can admire everything in this picture just before falling asleep.
There were two versions of the 2000 in coupé form: one built by Zagato, the other by Pininfarina. The most common form is the four door saloon, but this is way, way sexier.
Her too.
Lancia 2000 Coupé Here’s another lovely Lancia. Great period photography.
Sensible Matador Recession-themed advertising. And, it has to be said, AMC was one of the more honest car firms Stateside, selling on practicality more than flamboyance.
1971 Two great actors here: David Bauer (Diamonds Are Forever) and Don Henderson (The Paradise Club, Strangers, Bulman, Star Wars, Brannigan). Guest-starring in an episode of The Protectors, alongside Derren Nesbitt.
Pre-Polonez This is the Fiat ESV 2000, a safety study done in 1971. Interestingly, this design was chosen for the FSO Polonez, adapted to the running gear of the increasingly ancient Fiat 125.
Back in time in 1971 A great still from The Bank Job, with Jason Statham and Keeley Hawes.
It’s Danny again My name is Jim Keats. I was in an accident and woke up in 1971. Am I mad, in a coma, or hanging out with Evan?
