FYI: The President has proposed $75B to fund high quality early education.
It’s weird to feel important sometimes
Kindergarten I’ve always been surprised how late Americans start school. They call the five-year-old class kindergarten. I started at 2½ and had to sit a bloody exam before then to get in—and that was kindergarten. From that point, I had homework every night.

It’s always nice to see name of streets in HK still being used under the British rule. #address #bestoftheday #buildings #street #queensway #admiralty #british #colony #central #destination #followme #hk #igers #instaphone #instamood #igdaily #instadaily #instagramhub #instacool #mecca #picoftheday #pixoftheday #photooftheday #pacificplace #shops #shopping #tourists #tweegram #textgram #webstagram
Remnants of the Empah And you know, I hope they keep those names. We can’t erase those years, and they’re a reminder of our multicultural world and the need to be accepting. Plus it makes kids curious about another language, allowing them to broaden their horizons, and that can’t be a bad thing.
木蘭花 A bit of “girl power” from Frances Yip: from the 1980s adaptation of 木蘭花 on TVB in Hong Kong. What reminded me of this were the opening notes, which coincidentally have a similarity to the chorus in Adele’s Skyfall theme.
Of course, I’m Chinese. One hundred per cent Chinese. But I don’t trust Chinese Communists. … Hong Kong is different and has to preserve its own values.
最佳拍檔千里救差婆 The fourth instalment of the Aces Go Places series, filmed in large part in New Zealand. The car chase from around the 43.30 mark is hilarious: as we all know, when you leave Auckland Airport, you’re on the Harbour Bridge. Once you exit the Harbour Bridge, you’re on the Terrace in Wellington. The best stunt is leaping off the Lombard Car Park in a Torana and landing on a Hong Kong soundstage in a Cortina.
As usual, Sam Hui stars in it, writes the theme tune, and sings the theme tune. Ronald Lacey is the villain and former Credit Card hostess Gayle-Anne Jones has a bit-part. Kiwi stuntman Peter Bell was behind the driving.
His Majesty Hong Kong’s greatest graffiti artist, 曾灶財, a.k.a. 九龍皇帝.

When the sun had not set Lovely traditional typography (not just the English). Say what you will about the Empah, but they did leave behind some nice signage.

Upwards Great view of the International Commerce Centre in Kowloon. That’s 1,588 ft heading up, but it’s still shorter than Taipei 101.
