Mr & Mrs Smith Wonderful, short-lived series from the mid-1990s, about two spies working for private interests, sometimes pretending to be a married couple, using the code names Mr & Mrs Smith. Not all the episodes were great, but the good ones were very good. Then along came a movie which allegedly was not a remake of this TV series, with the same basic plot, and for some reason everyone remembers the copy.
Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir Glad someone is Tumblring The Avengers. (Via pollyspersonal.)
