That means you can no longer see many of your own likes and recommendations, unless they happen to wind up on your wall.

Oh, no, 2013 does not exist yet! On Facebook, there is no 2013. The Mayans were off by a few days. (Most likely, it is related to this old bug, which originates from the Facebook wisdom that all its 1,000 million members live in California.)
